Masters Meet in Florida
  February 6-8 2004

The Weekend of the 6th was a moment in time  when Three 10th Degree
Black Belts, Larry Tatum, Dave Hebler and Richard "HUK" Planas came together and taught for two days at Mr. Sean Kelley's Kenpo School in West Palm Beach Florida. A long with these Masters were Master's Sean Kelly (the host of the camp). Rainer Schulte (the person that established Kenpo in Germany) and Master David Stanley (brother of Elvis Presley). With all their combined effort they united almost 100 Black Belts and a number of lower ranks into one unified weekend of learning and fun.

Their wasn't a moment when the mats weren't full of excitement as
these Masters expounded on the Art they love so much and took the
participants on a Journey into the heart of Kenpo.
Talking with Mr. Tatum and Mr. Palanis they both told us that this
was the first time that the two of them have taught together in over
30 years.
On Saturday night Mr. Kelly gave a special awards dinner banquet for the Masters and teachers from other schools. Plaques of appreciations were given out to all the teachers with two very special presentations.  A special patch designed by Elvis Presley before his death, (The TCB Patch ) meaning Take care of Business.  Elvis loved Kenpo and wanted to have his own Kenpo Patch. This was the third time in history that this patch has been given out in recognition for outstanding achievement in the Kenpo world. This Patch was presented to Mr. Larry Tatum by David Stanley who with Mr. Heebler had a hand in the design a long with Elvis.

Another very special award was given (the Key to the City) to Mr. Palanis by the former mayor for his work in helping Mr. Kelly in the community.

It is events like this one that keep the Kenpo community strong and
moving forward on a positive line.
